About Us!

Mike and Emma Plumpton are a husband and wife baking team from Cwmbran in South Wales, UK. Emma started Plump Cakes in 2016, after being inspired by Mike, who created cakes for family occasions and birthdays.  After working silently in the background alongside Emma since the beginning, Mike now works for their business full-time, helping bake and decorate with Emma for their customers and their new shop at the local marketplace which opened in September 2020. They loved what they were doing so much they extended the shop to include an 80's theme Tearoom in September 2021. In 2017, they took their creations to Geekedfest, a Comic Convention held in Newport, and got the bug for taking part in events. They have since held events for charities such as Meningitis Trust, Mind and Cancer Research UK and held raffles for their loyal customer base to win various sweet treats. Their baking portfolio has expanded over the years to include not only creative and decorative occasion cakes, but also cupcakes, brownies, cookies and more (see the Menu for more details!). They are fully qualified with a 5* rating and both have up to date Health and Hygiene Certificates.
